In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, our Service Wing has initiated virtual prayer and bhajan sessions on WhatsApp beginning 21 March to pray for Swami's blessings and protection. Prayers begin at 7.30 p.m. and members of NED and other centres have been contributing bhajans regularly to keep these prayers going every evening. Lately we have included bhajans sung by Swami for each session. We also observed the holy occasion of Ram Navami on Thursday, 2nd April.
Our volunteers have also been busy making face shields at home from locally sourced materials such as clear plastic, sponge and elastic based on a design by Tzu-Chi with slight modifications. Todate they have produced more than 200 shields and distributed them to medical frontliners at Penang G.H. and Klinik-Klinik Kesihatan in Tj.Bungah, Telok Bahang, Jalan Perak, Farlim, Sg.Dua and Bayan Baru, all of which have shown much gratitude and appreciation for our contribution. Lunch packs together with packets of buns and fruit were also distributed to Penang G.H. on one occasion. Our volunteers will be rolling out more face shields in the next few days for distribution where needed.
