We celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival on the evening of Sunday, 11th September. This year, after chanting of the Vedas, we performed the "Light Transference Ceremony" which represents the passing of the light of wisdom (sharing of the Truth) to every corner of the world to dispel the darkness of ignorance. The burning of the wick with the melting of the candle also reminds us of the impermanence and transience of all conditional things. When lighting the candles, we sang the "The Lighting of the Lamp" song (see video). All the lotus candles were then placed on the altar.
This was followed by bhajans and Sai mantras. 25 devotees took part in this celebration.
