It was a joyous occasion on Sunday, 19th May when we gathered to celebrate Wesak Day - the Birthday, the Enlightenment Day and the Parinibbana of the Buddha. Our prayers began with Vedic chanting followed by bhajans. The Divine Message was delivered by Bro.Gan who also related a few episodes from the life of the Buddha. Devotees then bathed a small statue of the Buddha which symbolizes the washing away of greed, hatred and ignorance and purification of one's heart and mind. The morning ended with refreshments for all.
