Happy Wesak

 "May I eliminate evil thoughts
May I cultivate good deeds
May I help save all living beings"

Wesak Day signifies the Birthday, the Enlightenment Day and the Parinibbana (final passing away) of the Buddha.  It is indeed a triple happiness day and celebrated with great joy by Buddhists everywhere.

On this auspicious day, we held prayers at the Centre which was followed by the bathing of the statue of the Buddha by devotees.  This ritual highlights a universal message that it is easy to wash away physical dirt but much more difficult to cleanse one's "inner dirt" of greed, anger and ignorance.

May the Buddha's teachings guide and bless us with peace and contentment!
