The Chinese Ghost Festival or Zhong Yuan Festival was celebrated on 14 August 2011, coinciding with the 15th day of the 7th lunar month. Our prayers began at 7.00pm with veda chanting, Lord Shiva mantras, Lingashtakam, and followed with bhajans. After bhajans, we chanted the Boddhisatva Ksitigarbha mantra and the Long Dharani Sutra.
At the end of the session, there was a sharing of the origins of Ghost Festival and the Buddhist story about Mu Lian, the eldest monk under the discipline of Buddha.
