The Enlightenment Day of Goddess Kuan Yin was celebrated on 30 July 2010 at 8.00pm (19th day of 6th lunar month). Buddhist Mantras were chanted in addition to our regular prayers and bhajans.
There was an invited speaker, Dr Lye Hun Yeow, a professor of religious studies specializing in eastern religions, who gave a talk on Love and Compassion. He also expounded on the inner meanings of some of the Buddhist mantras which we have been chanting at our centre.
Vegetarian refreshments were served after arathi.
