Dumpling Festival

The Chinese Dumpling Festival (Mandarin : Duanwu) was celebrated on Sunday, 13 June 2010, at 7.00pm.  Our bhajan started with Vedam chanting and regular bhajans.  It was followed with Tibetan Buddhist Mantras, including the Ksitigarbha Mantra.  Moxa, a special herb used traditionally during the Chinese 5th month, was also lighted to purify the atmosphere.

After arathi, everyone had a feast of the two types of vegetarian dumplings made by our Sai brother and sisters.  One was the regular style (with salty filing) and the other was the nyonya style (with sweet & salty filing).
