Meal for the Poor

We served dinner to the poor at The Lighthouse Drop-in Centre last Wednesday, 9th November in conjunction with Swami's forthcoming birthday.  The vegetarian meal which consisted of mock "duck", mock "mutton" curry and mixed vegetables was cooked by a senior Wanita member and served by our volunteers.  They were also given water melon for dessert.  About 60 people were served on this occasion.

Ladies' Day Home Visits

Members of the Wanita wing visited the homes of three senior devotees on Monday, 7th November in conjunction with Ladies' Day.  These devotees are in their 90's and have been in the Sai fold since their young days.  Due to age, they are unable to come to the Centre for bhajans and other activities but are fondly remembered by members of the Centre. They were each presented with a small giftpack.

This devotee, Sis. Wee (seated in centre) is 96 years old!

Sis. Ratnam (seated in red outfit) will be 91 next year.

Serving the Old

In conjunction with Bhagavan's 91st Birthday celebrations, we hosted a  vegetarian lunch for the residents of the Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged on Sunday, 30th October.  We began with a short bhajan, after which entertainment was provided by a group of line dancers.  Lunch was served at 11 a.m. in the medical ward and community hall.  This is part of the Centre's community service programme and is held twice a year.
