Krishna Janmashtami 2016

We held prayers at the Centre on the evening of Thursday, 25th August to mark the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.

"The incarnation of Krishna proclaimed the doctrine of divine love, as manifested by the cowherd maids (gopikas). Today, man is like an earthen pot filled with nectar. His body may be made of clay, but his spirit is eternal. The Divine has to be experienced through the body. Hence, human birth should not be treated as something trivial. Human life is worth living --it should be cherished as something precious."

Memorial Prayers

The annual 7th Moon Memorial Prayers were held at our Centre on Sunday, 14th August.  Lotus lamps with cards bearing the names of our departed loved ones were lighted and placed at Swami's altar together with offerings of fruits and kueh.  Our prayers began with the chanting of the Rudram followed by bhajans, Buddhist and Tibetan mantras.

Narayana Seva

A group of volunteers comprising adults, Wanita and Youth members of the Centre spent the afternoon of Saturday, 30th July and morning of Sunday, 31st July visiting poor and lonely families.  A total of 18 families living in low cost flats at Rifle Range, Kg.Melayu and Air Itam were presented with food packages containing rice, cooking oil, milk, biscuits, oats and noodles.  This activity is part of the Centre's Narayana Seva cum elderly care programme which provide participants an opportunity to share their love and time with the needy in a meaningful way.
